The tensions are definitely rising in the house this week and the jealousy is at its peak. So, who will be able to deal with the pressure?
This week, Ben Higgins took the 11 final girls to Mexico City, and from the “coming up on” preview, we knew there would be a lot of drama. So here’s our live blog — starting off with the girls arriving on a plane to Mexico and well, Olivia being really excited about having a bidet in her room, then saying she was in love with him. Hot stuff.
Right away, much to Olivia’s surprise, Amanda got the first one-on-one! She was clearly upset, but probably excited once Ben showed up for the date at 4:20 in the morning. While Lauren H. was super embarrassed in her retainer, Amanda woke up looking flawless. Ugh. (One question: why were the girls sharing beds? Couldn’t ABC get 11 beds?)
Even though their date began in the middle of the night, Amanda and Ben’s one-on-one was very romantic and standard Bachelor style — a hot air balloon and picnic in the grass. It was followed by a heart-to-heart where she revealed that her ex-husband actually cheated on her, which resulted in her being a single mom of two. And yes, she got the rose.
The group date went to Jubilee, Becca, JoJo, Caila, Emily, Lauren B., Jennifer, Leah and Olivia, which meant Lauren H. got the one-on-one. Olivia, open-mouth and all, was not pleased. Jubilee wasn’t happy either. The date is basically a Spanish lesson, and they had to say romantic things to each other. Some said “I love you,” and when he said it to Jubilee, she called him out on it — but Olivia of course, felt crazy connections when Ben talked to her though. Even though he literally said the same thing to everyone. Next up was a team cooking exercise with teams of two. Naturally, Olivia asked Ben to be her teammate, and Jubs was not happy. Is she ever though? And yup, everyone else was pissed too, since they pretty much got a 1-1.
Side bar: apparently she has really bad breath, according to the girls — and then Ben asked her to try some mint, soooo… anyway.
Jubilee’s team actually won the cooking challenge, but that still wasn’t enough for her. During the cocktail hour, Olivia once again pulled him aside first, and she was pissed, again. Ugh, every. Single. Night. After he was away for too long with Lauren B., she got really upset — when Ben tried to take her hand next, she wouldn’t even hold his hand. Girl, you can go interrupt just like everyone else! (Sorry, I’m annoyed.)
He made a good point when talking to her saying that he tried grabbing her hand, in front of others, that was to show her he liked her. And she wouldn’t do it — not a nice feeling on his end. She begged him not to give up, and asked if he still saw something, and pretty much, he said no. And with that, they said goodbye. He still had to give out a group date rose — and it went to, drumroll please . . . OLIVIA.
Lauren and Ben went on a one-on-one date to show the world Mexico fashion week (raise your hand if you didn’t know there was on). They walked in the show, did well, and Tyra would be impressed by Ben’s smize! Anyway, she later told Ben that she too had been cheated on and was heartbroken — but decided to choose happiness. (Sorry, but the date was a little snoozy.)
At the cocktail hour, everyone was still mad about Olivia having a rose — especially when she responded to Amanda’s story about her drama with her ex and her children with, “I feel like it’s an episode of Teen Mom that I watch.” Uh, rude? Well Amanda’s response was pretty perfect: you remind me of Snooki when she was a hot mess on Jersey Shore. After that, Olivia cried and apologized saying that she was trying to change. With that, everyone was over it and brought it to Ben.
Emily went first, broke down to Ben in tears about how disrespectful Olivia was. You know, until Olivia interrupted. Amanda then also told Ben she felt “targeted” by her — not a good sign for Ben. So this week was “to be continued,” after Ben pulled Olivia aside. Will he send her home? We’ll see — oh yeah and there are a lot of tears (of course)!
