Blake Shelton is such a sweet guy. No wonder Gwen Stefani loves him so much! When a fan asked him what he’d do if he won the Grammy award he’s nominated for, he said he’d rather see Joey Feek, who’s losing her battle with cancer, win that one. Aww — see his tweet here!
Blake Shelton, 39, is so selfless! When a Twitter user asked him what he’d do if he won a Grammy award later this month, he gave a very unexpected answer. And it’s probably the sweetest thing we’ve ever read. See it here!
Blake said he wants Joey Feek, 40, who’s losing her battle with cancer, to win the award he’s nominated for. “I’d LOVE to win a Grammy but honestly want to see
@joeyandrory win that one,” he told the Twitter user.
Blake and Joey are both nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, so that’s the award he’s referring to. She’s nominated with her husband Rory for their song, “If I Needed You,” and Blake is nominated with Ashley Monroe for their song, “Lonely Tonight.”
If Joey does win the Grammy, it’d be bittersweet, as it would likely be the last award she’ll ever win. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Joey was recently visited by puppies during her brave final days. “Some baby puppies came to play with Indy the other day, but I think her mama loved their visit the most,” her husband Rory posted on the couple’s Facebook page.
The country singer was told she had six months to live in October, following her stage IV cancer diagnosis. And luckily, she survived long enough to spend her final holidays with her family. She just hopes to live long enough to see her daughter turn 2 years old later this month. Perhaps she’ll also live long enough to accept that Grammy win Blake wants for her oh so bad.
