One year after Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive after drowning in her bathtub, officials reveal that her case is still ‘under investigation.’ Find out the latest here!
It’s been exactly one year since Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious and facedown in a bathtub in her Georgia home. Many questions remain unanswered as to what happened that tragic day, but the investigation regarding her case is “still open.”
Police officials in Roswell, Georgia, closed their investigations and handed the case over to Fulton County District Attorney’s office for review. However, a District Attorney’s office spokesperson has revealed the case is far from solved. Her case is “still open and under investigation,” spokesperson Yvette Jones told E! News. The investigation is hush-hush, with details of new information, witnesses, interviews and tests all being kept under wraps.
Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter, died at the age of 22 on July 26, 2015, after spending nearly 7 months in the hospital. Nick Gordon, who was Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend at the time, is currently being sued for wrongful death by the guardian of the Bobbi Kristina estate. Bobby has openly blamed Nick for Bobbi Kristina’s death. However, Nick has always professed his innocence and called allegations that he was responsible for her death as “scandalous” and “improper.”
Veteran criminal defense attorney Darryl Cohen, who isn’t involved in the case, also shared his thoughts on the case with the outlet. “It’s really a waiting game. Waiting to see if anything is going to be done by the district attorney,” he said. “Then, it’s either game-on one way or the other.”
Darryl is surprised that a decision has taken this long and believes it raises some “serious questions.” He added, “What types of evidence are they analyzing and why is it taking them this long? That is a big ‘Why’ to me,” he explained. “Is there a smoking gun and it is taking a long time to analyze or is there a witness they are searching for?”
Cohen thinks it’s a possibility that the D.A. will wait until it’s the anniversary of Bobbi Kristina’s death to make an announcement that they are going to indict someone or go to a grand jury. No matter what happens, we just hope Bobbi Kristina gets some justice.
