Revenge is a dish best served cold and it can get awfully chilly in Cleveland during this time of year. LeBron James, 31, and the Cleveland Cavaliers will give Tim Duncan, 39, Tony Parker, 33, and the rest of the his San Antonio Spurs a warm welcome — before delivering some payback!
When the Cavs and the Spurs met for the first time on Jan. 14, the Spurs walked away with the victory. But when the teams meet on Jan. 30, the Cavs will look to even things up. The game kicks off at 8:30 P.M. EST so be ready to catch every second of this rematch.
Four points. That’s all that separated victory from defeat in that first game, as the Spurs won 99-95. Cleveland had control of the game all the way up to the third quarter, according to SB Nation, but thanks to Tony Parker going on an amazing run, the Spurs were able to secure the win.
The Spurs were on a 13-game winning streak before they ran into the brick wall that is Steph Curry, 27, and the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors demolished the Spurs, 120-90, on Jan. 25. The Spurs rebounded by trouncing their fellow team from Texas, the Houston Rockets, on Jan. 27, sending James Harden home with 130-99 loss.
The Cavs didn’t have any better luck with the Warriors. LeBron’s squad lost 132-98 when they met Golden State on Jan. 18. Since that defeat, the team fired head coach David Blatt, according to Deadspin, and replaced him with Tyronn Lue. The team has gone 2-1 since making the change, and hope it leads them back to the NBA finals.
Though the Cavs have the best record in the Eastern Conference, they only had one player picked for the NBA All-Star game. LeBron will represent Cleveland, while many thought Kevin Love was unjustly snubbed. As for the Spurs, they have LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard headed to the Feb. game in Toronto.
Who do you think will win this game, HollywoodLifers? Can the Cavs get revenge on the Spurs, or is San Antonio just too good?
