Zayn Malik’s new song ‘Pillowtalk’ was written when he was still engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, but the music video features a hot makeout sesh with his new girl, Gigi Hadid. On Jan. 29, a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY how Perrie feels about it, here.
Zayn Malik, 23, and Gigi Hadid, 20, got super hot and heavy in his new video for “Pillowtalk,” but the song was actually written about his ex-fiancee Perrie Edwards, 22! So, how does the Little Mix singer feel about the song? A source gives HollywoodLife.com the EXCLUSIVE answer, right here!
Zayn and Gigi are over the moon over their new video for his song “Pillowtalk” (which you can stream right here.) It’s hot, it’s smooth, and we can’t stop humming it! However, one person who may not love it as much is the person who the song was actually written about: Zayn’s ex-finacee Perrie! “Perrie has seen the video and has mixed emotions,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“It’s just weird for her watching Zayn with Gigi in the video when the song was really inspired by Perrie‘s relationship with him,” the source continued EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “Of course, she‘s happy for him, but in all honesty watching the video makes her kind of sad.” Oh my god, that’s so sad! And we can’t blame her. The couple was engaged for two years, and months after their split he’s got a new career and a new girl. That’s rough.
Speaking with Zane Lowe in an interview for Apple Music Beats 1, Zayn admitted he started writing his album two months after splitting from One Direction, according to the Daily Mail. He was definitely still with Perrie at that time. So the song was for her and now she has to see him perform it with his mouth on another girl’s lips. “She would just rather not watch it again and not have people talk about it with her non-stop,” said the source. Poor thing!
