The ‘bad boys’ are back — and we couldn’t be happier about it. The first footage from the epic ‘Vampire Diaries’ crossover with ‘The Originals’ in New Orleans is here, and yes, there are drinks involved.
It’s not surprising that when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are back together on screen, they’re sitting at a bar. The Vampire Diaries and The Originals crossover event will happen in episode 14 for each show, but we just got our first look and we’re pretty freakin’ excited.[hl_amazon_single url=”http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JVWR9U/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B002JVWR9U&linkCode=as2&tag=hollywoocom-20&linkId=WJLFVMZLBT5RHJTJ” header=”Watch” title=”The Vampire Diaries”]
“Welcome to New Orleans, old friend,” Klaus says as he slides a shot across the bar to Stefan. TVD‘s official Twitter account shared the new video which smashes together scenes from both shows, including one preview of them together. Catch up on The Vampire Diaries right here.
“The crossover was born out Stefan needing a place to escape,” executive producer Julie Plec told our sister publication, TVLine. “He’s on the run. He needs to go somewhere where magic can’t find him, and we realized he can go to New Orleans where there’s that bar where magic doesn’t work.” Now, the last time Klaus was anywhere near the Mystic Falls family was in season 5, when he informed Caroline (Candice King) he’d be her last love.
While Julie did say there will be “presence” of Caroline, don’t get too excited Klaroline fans. “Stefan’s now with Caroline, and Klaus, of course, has just gone through everything he’s gone through with Cami,” Julie said. “They actually have a surprisingly civil and honest conversation about love — what it means and the sacrifices that you have to make in the name of it.”
Both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals return to The CW starting at 8PM ET on Friday, Jan. 29! Are you excited to see the crossover or do you like them better separate?
