Uh-oh! It seems as if Zayn Malik just cannot stay on anyone’s good side lately. After canceling a talk show interview where he was supposed to appear alongside Ryan Reynolds, even the actor couldn’t resist giving Zayn flak — and he wasn’t shy about it either! See the hilariously sassy tweet Ryan posted about the singer right here!
Come on Zayn Malik, get your act together. From publicly dissing One Direction one too many times to ditching his first televised interview since splitting from the group back in March, Zayn, 23, has not been making a lot of friends lately. Even actor Ryan Reynolds, 39, couldn’t help but tease the former boybander after his last-minute cancelation!
“Zayn isn’t on the Graham Norton Show with me anymore,” Ryan began his Jan. 27 tweet after learning that Zayn would not be showing up to the talk show’s taping. Ryan was a good sport about the whole thing though and, in typical Ryan style, ended his tweet with a joke. “I’ll still go… But obviously I got my lips done for nothing.”
We think Ryan’s tweet was pretty brilliant and apparently so did his followers! The humorous tweet accumulated more than 21,000 likes and 12,000 retweets, which just goes to show that Ryan’s fans totally loved the joke. But even better, so did Zayn himself! The pop star retweeted Ryan and added a laughing emoji just to let everyone know that he too thought it was hilarious! Way to be a good sport, Zayn!
However, unfortunately Zayn fans and One Directioners alike did NOT take the cancellation as lightly as Ryan did. Zayn’s highly anticipated appearance was going to be his first televised interview since leaving One Direction in March 2015 and with his first single, “Pillow Talk” dropping on Jan. 29, his fans couldn’t wait to hear what Zayn had to say on the show. Unfortunately they’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Hopefully Zayn fans are feeling extra forgiving — after Zayn’s latest dig at 1D, we’re not so sure how much longer people will remain #TeamZayn. Perhaps that’s why Zayn “liked” the photo Louis Tomlinson, 24, posted on Twitter of him and his newborn son, Freddie. But come on, it’s going to take a lot more than a photo “like” to make amends with your former bandmates, Zayn. We have to admit though, it’s a start! Maybe Ryan Reynolds’ good sportsmanship can be an inspiration to One Direction!
What do you think of Ryan’s tweet, HollywoodLifers? Did you find it to be as hilarious as Zayn did?
