At last! It looks like justice might finally be served in the case of ‘Affluenza’ teen Ethan Couch, who killed four people in a drunk driving wreck yet received no prison time because a judge bought his defense that as a rich and spoiled kid, he didn’t know right from wrong!
About time! Ethan Couch, 18, has been deported back to Texas after he fled to Mexico for allegedly violating his 10 year probation – that included no use of alcohol – by playing beer pong. He and his mom were captured in Puerto Vallarta shortly after Christmas 2015 and now he’s finally looking at serious time behind bars as a result of his actions. Unbelievable….he killed four people while driving drunk and didn’t receive any jail time, but by drinking at a party, he’s finally going to see the inside of a prison cell!
Mexican authorities put a handcuffed Ethan on a plane in Mexico City bound for Dallas, TX, where he’ll be held overnight in a juvenile detention facility prior to his Jan. 29 hearing, where a judge will determine if he’ll be tried as an adult for violating his probation that included not drinking booze.
Ethan’s case made national headlines in 2013 when he received no jail time after killing four people when his speeding truck plowed into a group of Good Samaritans who had stopped to help a woman with a stalled car. His attorneys claimed that because he grew up rich and privileged, he didn’t understand that his actions would have consequences as a result of his “Affluenza” AS IF! But a judge bought it and didn’t give him any jail time that he so totally deserved.
But Ethan continued to party despite his easy sentence and was filmed drinking and playing beer pong at a party. Once that video surfaced, he and his mom went on the run since he would likely have his probation revoked and finally be sent to prison. They were caught hiding out at a friend’s condo in Mexico Dec. 28, 2015 and his mom Tonya was immediately extradited back to the states, and she’s now looking at 10 years in prison for aiding and abetting a felon. Now Ethan is back on U.S. soil, he’s finally looking at spending some hard time in prison!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Ethan should finally get some prison time for killing so many people?
