Fans waiting to see Zayn Malik make his first television appearance since leaving One Direction will…have to wait a little longer. He pulled out of the Jan. 29 episode of ‘The Graham Norton Show,’ leaving Directioners crying and asking ‘Why, Zayn? Why?’ Click to see.
Zayn Malik, 23, knows how to leave his fans hanging. After leaving One Direction almost a year ago, Zayn was about to make his first television appearance as a solo artist — before pulling out at the last-minute. Obviously, Directioners were not happy with the news.
Zayn was to debut as a solo act on the Jan. 29 episode of The Graham Norton Show, according to SugarScape. But the former 1D singer had to cancel due to “scheduling issues.” Zayn was actually supposed to pre-record his segment on Jan. 28, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, 46, Will Smith, 47, and Ryan Reynolds, 39. Zayn stood up the Fresh Prince? Gasp! Say it ain’t so!
The chat show appearance was supposed to coincide with Zayn dropping his first single. He announced the date of his new song, “Pillow Talk,” with a sexy, shirtless picture. He even gave a preview of the track. Nice. Fans will finally get to hear Zayn sing on Jan. 29, but, sadly, they won’t be able to see him. While Simon Cowell, 56, may not care what Zayn has to say on a talk show, fans certainly do — as they want to know about his life and his romance with Gigi Hadid, 20.
News of this cancellation left Zayn’s fans heartbroken and disappointed.. Some were concerned that something was wrong, offering to talk with him. Others were worried that Zayn flaking out will earn him a “bad reputation.” Another fan was upset that Zayn was letting Will Smith down.

@zaynmalik You can't cancel your first solo tv appearance when you already have a bad reputation!

Though, if Directioners are dying to see Zayn, they could just watch the nostalgic video for the band’s song, “History.” Ahead of their break, One Direction – that is, Harry Styles, 21, Liam Payne, 22, Louis Tomlinson, 24, and Niall Horan, 22 — released a vid on Jan. 26 that was full of shots when the band was a five-piece. Zayn was everywhere in the video, giving fans all the feels.
While Directioners were ecstatic to see Zayn back with the band – sorta – how did he feel about being included in the “History” video? “He really thinks it was a classy move from the guys,” a source close to Zayn EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com, “and it gave him a good feeling.” Maybe Zayn can return the favor to all his fans by rescheduling his Graham Norton Show appearance and make his formal solo-TV debut as soon as possible.
Are you sad that Zayn cancelled, HollywoodLifers? Are you excited to see him make his first television appearance since leaving One Direction?
