Lea Michele ‘Burst Into Tears’ During Matthew Paetz’s Sweet Proposal
While the engagement may come as a surprise to some, it was apparently a long time coming for the happy couple. The two, who first met in April 2014, have been “talking about taking the next step for six month now,” according to OK!‘s source. though Lea wasn’t shocked by Matthew’s proposal, she did reportedly “burst into tears.” Better still, Cory’s family, with whom Lea is still close with, is said to be overjoyed for the Scream Queens actress. “With their blessing, she’s [Lea] ready to go full steam ahead with Matt,” adds the source.
Prior to her rumored engagement, Lea opened up to Flare magazine about her relationship with Matthew and how she was able to find love again after Cory’s untimely death.“I wanted to make sure that I was okay with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own. I didn’t want anybody to fill any holes for me—that sounds sexual! I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together,” she told the magazine. “I needed to do that on my own. I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences. And that’s when someone miraculously came into my life.”
While there’s no telling yet if these rumors are 100% true, we for one are keeping our fingers crossed and wishing these two all the best! HollywoodLifers, do you think Lea and Matthew make a good couple? Do you want to see them get engaged? Sound off below!
