Donald Trump is doing himself no favors in squashing rumors that he’s terrified of Megyn Kelly by disgustingly insulting her on Twitter. In the wake of news that he’s sitting out of the Fox News GOP debate, Trump’s going after moderator Megyn hard. Click through to see his nasty tweet!
Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly, 45, was the focus of Donald Trump‘s ire again on January 27, when he tweeted some particularly childish and sexists insults at her. In one of his most shocking tirades yet, Trump called Megyn a “bimbo” and a bad journalist. Is he trying to prove that he’s not sitting out of the debate because he’s scared of her? “I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!” Donald tweeted. Seriously? How is this okay? Of course, by saying he’s not calling her a bimbo, he is. Why choose that particular insult, bimbo? It’s a pointedly sexist insult, defined as a pretty, but stupid and slutty woman.

Hurling this word at a respected professional, so publicly — especially to likely prove some point that you’re not intimidated by her — is incredibly disgusting. He can call her a lightweight reporter if he feels that way (it’s rude, but fair game), but bringing her gender into it is unacceptable! Plus, it’s kind of funny that Trump is publicly saying that he can’t handle dealing with even a weak reporter, or someone he clearly thinks is dumb!
The fact that he decided to go after Megyn with no prompting speaks volumes to the rumors that he ducked out of the GOP debate on January 28 because he’s afraid of facing Megyn at the podium again! The rumor is that he doesn’t want another epic showdown that could leave him looking bad!
Megyn and Trump’s feud started in August 2015, when he believed her line of questioning at the GOP debate about his history of misogynistic comments was biased against him. And instead of just bashing her work ethics, he decided to use a few of those comments against her, including the now famous “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” line. Yes, he implied that she was so hard on him during the debate because she was on her period. Would he say things like that in office if world leaders didn’t let him have his way?
