Ouch! Nikki Bella has a serious pain in the neck. The WWE star will go under the knife this week to fix a herniated disk and a broken neck. Keep reading for all the details on the potentially career ending injury.
Nikki Bella, 32, is already planning her comeback only it may not be possible after her surgery this Jan. 27. The Total Divas star will be having a two-hour bone fusion procedure to fix a piece of broken vertebrae. An injury, caused by years of WWE action, that is so serious her future in the ring remains in the hands of her doctors.
After wrestling in pain since the middle of last year, Nikki decided to get an MRI which confirmed her suspicions, she had a broken neck. Nikki opened up in an interview with E! Online about the injury and her upcoming surgery. “Right when we saw that we knew OK no more ring work,” she said of the MRI results which prevented her from wrestling in the WWE Royal Rumble 2016 last weekend.
Nikki says she will be in the hospital for two days and then her body will take six months to heal properly. “There is a potential that this is career-ending,” Nikki explained in her interview. “We will only know that when I get out of surgery on Wednesday and then basically how the bone heals.” Yikes this is so scary! Our thoughts are totally with Nikki,
“I truly have hope that I will get to compete in that ring another day, I really do,” Nikki shared in the interview. But don’t look for her signature move, the Rack Attack, again anytime soon. “For now the Rack Attack will be officially retired,” Nikki laments of the move that may have been partly to blame for her busted up bones.
Nikki says she will be surrounded by family, her sister Brie Bella and her boyfriend John Cena during her recovery process. She will be in a neck brace for months and fans will be able to follow her progress as it will all be filmed for her reality show Total Divas.
