Hannah Montana no more! Miley Cyrus is movin’ on up, and movin’ over to Amazon for an original series done by Woody Allen.
Woody Allen has officially cast Miley Cyrus, 23, and Elaine May, 83, as two of the principal stars for his new series that will take place in the 1960s. The show will consist of six half hour-episodes and will premiere exclusively on Amazon!
We are so excited about the series, that will be fully directed by Woody Allen; our sister site, Deadline was the first to report the news.
Miley’s first series, Hannah Montana, ran for four seasons from March 2006 to January 2011. Since then, we got to know her best as a singer — and as the off-again now on-again fiancée of Liam Hemsworth.
Miley’s latest acting gig was in Bill Murray‘s recent Netflix holiday special A Very Murray Christmas.
HollywoodLife.com recently told you that her new longer hair that people assumed was for him, was actually for a new role. “She is looking to change her look up for the new year and get back into some acting but is determined to go short again when the time is right,” an insider told us recently. “Her look is not for a guy, not for Liam. It is all career oriented.”
