Kristen Stewart is weighing in on the gender pay gap issue, and her response to celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence who have been outspoken on the issue is surprising. In a new interview she says to ‘do something’ and stop ‘complaining.’ Here’s the scoop!
Kristen Stewart, 25, is urging gender wage equality advocates to stop “complaining” and go “do something”! This is a total jab at celebs like Jennifer Lawrence, 25, who has penned an article about inequality in wages between genders. See what else she said, here!
On Oct. 13, JLaw penned an intense article about the pay gap between male and female actors in Hollywood, saying “f*** that.” Now, Kristen has something to say about the stars who are vocal about the issue, and it definitely isn’t supportive. In a new interview with Variety Kristen said “If you feel like there’s a lack of something in front of you… instead of sitting around and complaining about that go do something.”
“Go write something, go do something,” continued Kristen, acknowledging that it isn’t easy, but blaming people for not trying. “And that’s easy to say,” she continued. “Like, f–k, it’s hard to get movies made. It’s a huge luxury. Who gets to just make movies?” She says the real issue is that she’s sick of hearing about it. “But that subject is just so prevalently everywhere right now, and it’s boring.”
Kristen claims that it isn’t an issue that affects her. “It’s hard for me to speak to that because it’s awkward. I’m so f**king lucky and stimulated and driven and like not bored and I have something in front of me all the time so it sounds weird for me to sit around and be like, ‘it’s not fair guys make more money’, because their movies make more money. Like let’s start making more money, it makes sense.” Well, it didn’t make sense to JLaw, and it doesn’t make sense to us.
