Logan Lerman, 24, was so excited to chat about his latest project, Indignation, on Sunday, Jan. 24 in Park City, Utah at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. And yes, it sounds so good!
“I play Marcus. He’s just a really passionate, you know, opinionated young man who is constantly battling with repressing his desires,” Logan shared when asked to explain his character in Indignation. Hmm, he sounds layered!
Marcus is joined by Olivia Hutton, played by the gorgeous Sarah Gadon, who says that she and Logan share some very “intense” scenes with each other. Ah, and now we know where those desires Logan was speaking of stem from.
In the rest of the interview, director James Schamus explained that the parallel between Indignation’s time period and present day is the “repressive culture” towards women and young people who are “trying to break out” from the normal.
Here’s the full synopsis for Indignation, via Sundance:
It’s 1951, and among the new arrivals at Winesburg College in Ohio are the son of a kosher butcher from New Jersey and the beautiful, brilliant daughter of a prominent alum. For a brief moment, their lives converge in this emotionally soaring film based on the novel by Philip Roth.
