Time is running out before the Iowa Caucus, and that means that tonight’s Democratic town hall is more important than ever for Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley. HollywoodLife.com has the live stream ready so you don’t have to miss a minute!
The January 25 Democratic town hall forum is the last chance for the Democratic presidential candidates — Bernie Sanders, 74, Hillary Clinton 68, and Martin O’Malley, 53, — to express themselves and make their policies heard. The event, held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and moderated by CNN’s Chris Cuomo, could be a make-or-break night for these presidential contenders. As we head into the town forum, Hillary and Bernie are neck and neck in the polls. But that may not be the case anymore after this night. The Iowa Caucus on February 1 is the first event of the presidential race in which constituents can vote, and the winner of this preliminary election could just be the person making their party’s ticket. So clearly, making a huge impression during the town forum, just five days before the caucus, is highly necessary. CLICK HERE to watch the live stream!
The town hall is not yet another debate. Instead, the three candidates won’t even be onstage at the same time; they’ll each have 30 minutes to themselves, in which they will answer questions posted by Chris, as well as audience members. Unlike the debates, there will be no set theme, either. This isn’t about attacking the other candidates, but about touting their own policies and showing exactly why they are the most qualified for the job. However, that doesn’t mean some trash talking isn’t going to occur behind each others’ backs!
Per schedule, Bernie is first up, followed by Martin, and then Hillary. Each candidate has a specific agenda for what they want to achieve with this event, but the person with the most riding on it is Governor O’Malley. Any candidate scoring less than %15 of the vote in the Iowa Caucus is automatically removed from the race, and their backers can shift to another candidate. The perpetual third wheel in the Democratic race is in great danger of this happening! The town hall forum is the perfect chance for him to get close to a group of constituents and explain what he’s going to do to get the job. Hillary and Bernie are already champing at the bit to get those backers to their sides if he fails.
