O say, can you see! Little Big Town got to show how patriotic they are when they performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the NFC Championship Game between the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Jan. 24. They certainly did America’s anthem justice!
The Grammy-Award winning group were officially announced as the entertainment for the big game on Jan. 20, just days after the Panthers and Cardinals landed themselves in the championship with big wins over the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, respectively. In addition, Panthers entertainment coordinator Jason Bastian revealed that LBT would be taking the field once again during halftime to perform their chart-topping hits! “Our fans will be in for a great show,” he said.
Sports fans will remember that Little Big Town has already performed the National Anthem once before. The “Girl Crush” band’s stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” during game 3 of the World Series in San Francisco still lives fondly in the memory, so we knew we had a great performance in store ahead of such a major game! Watch it below!
It promises to be another big year for Little Big Town, as they received two Grammy nominations as a group and their song “Girl Crush” is up for two more — including Song of the Year! Plus, they were just announced as headliners for the annual Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival in Las Vegas this fall, playing alongside luminaries like Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and Chris Young. With another national anthem under their belts, we’re sure to be seeing plenty more of Little Big Town in 2016!
