You thought Sundance was all about indie movies? Try again! Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel star in the first-ever virtual reality comedy skit, and they think it’s hands down the best part of the 2016 festival. Click inside to WATCH!
At the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, virtual reality is taking over. Comedy actors Paul Scheer, 39, and Rob Huebel, 46, say that their interactive Funny or Die skit is so impressive, it blows the moon landing out of the water. Say what?!
“All I’m gonna say is this: when you think of Sundance 2016 you will think of the fart joke VR sketch that Rob and I brought here with Funny or Die,” Paul tells Charlie Berens from @hollywood in this EXCLUSIVE interview. Both actors sat down to chat about their virtual reality skit on Friday, Jan. 22, in Park City, Utah.
“The moon landing? That was bullshit compared to this,” Rob says, and although he’s obviously kidding he delivers it very seriously. “Kennedy’s assassination? Nothing,” adds Paul.
The actors are talking about their virtual reality comedy skit, in which viewers put on a headset that takes them into a world where they are on the only suspect in a fart-related crime. Yes, really. It’s called Interrogation because Paul and Rob are the two cops who are (hilariously, of course) interrogating the innocent until proven guilty viewers.
“I’ll give you two spoilers. Rob threatens you with a gun, and I try to make out with you!” Paul shared, though it’s unclear if he’s joking this time or not. I guess we’ll just have to check it out to find out for ourselves!
But what happens when the actors receive word that Robert Redford might be crashing their interview? Watch the video interview above to see!
