Fireworks will be going off at the WWE Royal Rumble where 30 of pro wrestling’s finest will battle for the WWE title. So what should we expect from the big event? We’ve got your details!
As the 29th annual WWE Royal Rumble gets underway, what should we be looking for at the Jan. 24 event? There’s plenty of drama and history to consider for the big night, but who is expected to go the distance? We’ve got our predictions and picks as to who might go the distance, and who might provide the most entertaining moments. See more after the jump!
Roman Reigns is looking to come away with his second consecutive victory, something that hasn’t happened in 18 years so will he be able to pull it off? Having to start at Number One in the match may be difficult for the WWE Champion to handle but he still has an amazing chance to win! With his defeat by Sheamus in Dec. 2015, it had him down in the dumps, but now that he’s back on top he can seal his pride and keep his title with a win at the Royal Rumble! The Irishman’s time as champ was not that long but we’re sure he’ll be one of the last men standing, but we doubt he’ll come away as champ. But who will win? When WWE’s Vince McMahon announced on Jan. 4 that the event would decide the fate of the heavyweight championship it certainly has made a case for many to take the richest prize in the land!
Consider Bray Wyatt who on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw hinted that he’ll be playing a big part in the Rumble, as it would continue his on-off feud with Roman, and also continue his feed with Brock Lesnar who will be completely wanting to take him down and get some revenge. We’re betting on Brock to be one of the last men standing along with the Roman Reigns, but bearded Bray should be playing a significant role and at least be in the final five.
Chris Jericho is returning to the event to give it a major dose of star power, and he’ll likely stay in the ring long enough to be taken out by one of the favorites like Brock or Roman just for nostalgia’s sake. But then again he may shock the world with a win! And will Triple H make an appearance, we think there is a great chance he will and win.
In other action, Kalisto will challenge Alberto Del Rio for the United States Title, so if the masked man still has any energy left in him, could he pose a threat as a last-minute addition? There are a number of contenders, but in the end probably will come down to the heavy hitters. Now that it is officially WrestleMania season anything can happen! And we are looking forward to the surprises all night!
