So sad. A visibly distraught Celine Dion tried her best to hold back tears, as she greeted hundreds of mourners at her husband, Rene Angelil’s, public viewing in Montreal on Jan. 21. Watch the incredibly sad video here.
A huge line of mourners wrapped around the block, outside Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where Celine Dion held a public viewing for her late husband, Rene Angelil, on Jan. 21. In a live stream video, which you can watch here, the iconic singer can be seen standing by the open casket and greeting almost every single mourner.
Thankfully for Celine, Rene had reportedly planned his entire funeral before his Jan. 14 death. “René was generous enough to prepare all of this since the last few months with Céline,” the singer’s stylist and longtime friend Annie Horth told PEOPLE. “He didn’t know when it would happen, but he really wanted everything to be already prepared.” And because of that, Celine is “going through [this] peacefully and with control.”
At this time, very few details about his funeral have been revealed. But what we do know is that Celine will not be performing at Rene’s funeral despite multiple reports. She’s probably way too sad to do that anyway. Not only did she lose her husband just last week, but her brother, Daniel Dion, also died because of cancer just days later. It’s truly heartbreaking.
