Well, this is pretty epic! Miley Cyrus and Kanye West teamed up for a buzzed-about collaboration in 2013, and almost three years later, we can finally hear the sweet, sweet music they made. The duo’s remix of Yeezy’s song ‘Black Skinhead’ leaked on Jan. 20, and it’s totally amazing. Listen now!
Miley Cyrus, 23, and Kanye West, 38, on the same track? Yes, please! Fans have been waiting for the results of this 2013 collaboration since it was first rumored in 2013, and now, it’s finally all happening. The pair’s “Black Skinhead” remix finally dropped on Jan. 20, and you have to hear it right now!
The “Wrecking Ball” singer opens up the melodic track — which is quite different from ‘Ye’s original version — and she sounds pretty incredible! She launches into a cover of “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears For Fears before Kanye comes in with the first rap verse, and although it’s a rough cut, we can’t deny the talent these two put on the song. Fans have been waiting for this collaboration for quite some time, too. After the 2013 Video Music Awards — yup, the very same show where the 23-year-old famously twerked on Robin Thicke — she met up with an A-list singer for a “top secret” project, and sources confirmed that the rapper was who she was working with. So, yeah, it’s been almost a year and a half since we first caught wind that this would be happening. Worth the wait? I think so!
Kanye is currently gearing up for the release of his album SWISH on Feb. 11, and has been dropping new songs on Fridays to get fans excited. Since this particular track was leaked, it’s unclear whether or not it was intended to be part of the new G.O.O.D Fridays edition at any point in the future, or if it will even appear on the album at all, but it definitely has fans buzzing!
