What happens when you combine hot tubs in the middle of nowhere, massages in front of a lot of angry girls, and a soccer game? Well, ‘The Bachelor.’
During week three of The Bachelor, there was two clear women in the house that the other girls did not like: Olivia and Jubilee. This week, Olivia kind of rubbed her closeness with Ben Higgins in everyone’s faces — but it was Jubilee who really connected — both emotionally and physically with Ben.
During a group soccer date this week, Olivia — the girl who spent $48,000 on clothes so (where the heck was she a reporter) — decided to “take advantage” of Rachel, who gets hurt during the game. She wants to win, so she’ll do whatever it takes to go to the “after party” (that’s what soccer games have now). During that party she took him up to a hotel room, then leaned over the balcony with him to say hi to everyone… ugh, girl. However, while up there, the girls decide to talk crap about her and her “fat toes.” Seriously? Ew. Anyway, Jami tells her right after about what they said.
And no, that’s not the end of the awkwardness for Olivia. During the cocktail hour, Ben revealed to the group that he had lost two family friends at home, so the mood was immediately somber. So, Olivia grabbed him first… and started choking up about how insecure she was with her legs. She also thinks every time Olivia gets a leg brush or tight hug, she thinks it’s their “connection.”
When it came to Jubilee, she was a very different girl — she got really excited and was shocked when Ben gave her a one-on-one date, and it came off like she didn’t care. During the date, Ben realized it was totally just a wall: she had a very heartbreaking past, and revealed to him that her whole family had passed away.
They really connected, and she got a rose — and all the girls were not happy. It got worse at the cocktail hour, when she gave him a massage to try and help him calm down, which worked. The girls got so mad they tried pulling her aside, which made her snap and break down into tears.
The drama didn’t end there — right before the rose ceremony, Lace pulled Ben off to the side and completely broke down because she realized she needed to work on herself. I think it showed that the cockiness we saw in the beginning was insecurity, and I’ve got to say, I give her props for going home on her own.
So before the rose ceremony, here’s where they stood: Jubilee had a date rose, Amber received the group date rose and Lauren B. had a rose from other very romantic one-on-one date. (Side note: Lauren B. is my pick for Ben at this point.) So, who made it through the rose ceremony? Well, Shushanna and Jami were eliminated.
