Is ‘Bones’ being cancelled after this season? FOX co-CEO Dana Walden revealed she’s not sure ‘Bones’ will return for season 12, but the show’s season 11 finale will be very ‘satisfying’ for fans.
Will Booth and Brennan be solving their final case in the near future? The fate of Bones season 12 hangs in the balance, and FOX’s co-CEO Dana Walden admitted that a decision about a new season of the hit show has not been made yet, but it could “be the end of its run.” Either way, season 11 will end on a “satisfying” note.
“Really not sure about Bones,” Dana said at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour on Jan. 15. “It’s sort of the top of next week’s business to start talking to the producers about whether this is going to be the end of its run or whether there is potentially another season in the show.”
It could go either way, Bones fans. However, Dana acknowledged that the show has a very “loyal viewership,” and fans deserve for the show to end on a great note.
“If it’s going to be the end of this season, though, we’re going to give them plenty of time to start writing a meaningful ending to the show,” Dana continued. “We’ve got such a loyal viewership, and those viewers deserve a very satisfying ending, so we’re trying to be very sensitive about that.”
Bones star Davie Boreanaz admitted back in Oct. 2015 that he believed it’s time for the show to end after season 11. “For me, personally, I think it’s time. I think that 11 seasons is great,” he told E! Online. “I mean, one season is great! I don’t really count it as seasons but what we’ve given to the show and what we can do, for me it’s great to see the show come to an end and do it the way we want to do it.”
