Liam Payne is already getting busy during One Direction’s hiatus! The 1D dude shocked us all by releasing a snippet of a rap on his Instagram — a “little song he wrote for fun.” Is this finally part of his new collaboration with Juicy J??
Color us surprised! Liam Payne, 22, has wasted no time in his One Direction to start working on his solo work, starting to release tiny bits of new music on his Instagram. The new song, a rap, was posted to Instagram on January 16; is this really a silly little song he wrote, or his serious new effort as a solo artist? Click through to listen and watch the video!
In the hot clip, Liam is close up to the camera, shot in black and white, mouthing the words to what he says is a “Little Song I wrote for fun yesterday.” Yeah right! The fifteen seconds Instagram allows for videos is way to short to assess this; we need to hear the whole thing, ASAP! Liam’s got his mind set on a killer solo career now that One Direction is taking a break, and it’s finally time to let the world know what he’s got. We knew the kid had the voice of an angel, but he’s got the talent for rap, too! We all knew something was coming, but we didn’t think it would be this! Juicy J, 40, has been teasing a collaboration with Liam for over a year, and on January 6, he hinted that one was coming soon. Taunted, actually. Juicy J asked his followers if they wanted to “hear that song with Liam,” and said nothing else. Come on, dude! It looks like this might be one of many teasers for their new song.
Liam actually proved that he could hold his own as a rapper when he was in the studio in Malibu with Juicy J and TM 88. Apparently he knocked out a few rhymes, and wasn’t half bad at it. This clip definitely proves that’s the case. We’re just dying to hear a full-length version to hear what his new style is — One Direction meets Three 6 Mafia? Who knew that would work?
