‘Screech’ is the noise that Dustin Diamond will hear every night until May 2016, as the sound of his jail door slams shut! The former ‘Saved By The Bell’ star has checked in to a correctional facility to begin a four-month sentence for disorderly conduct where he stabbed a man in a bar fight.
Yikes! Dustin Diamond‘s troubled adult years are marching on, and now he’s officially serving a lengthy jail sentence. Screech, what has gone so wrong for you over the years? A 2006 sex tape followed by an embarrassing 2009 tell-all book and now this! He checked in to an Ozaukee County, WI jail Jan. 15 to begin serving fourth months locked up for stabbing a man during a bar brawl on Christmas 2014. Read on for more about Dustin’s drama.
The former Saved By The Bell star is actually really is lucky he’s only doing four months behind bars for two misdemeanor charges, as he had been staring down two felony charges that were dropped before he went on trial, and those carried serious prison time! Back on May 30, 2015 he convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct, even though he testified that “I felt like we were being set up for antagonistic purposes,” and that he was only waving a pocket knife around to keep any attackers at bay. But his self-defense claims didn’t work and now he’s officially a jailbird.
“I sincerely apologize to everyone involved,” the former Saved by the Bell star said during his sentencing phase. “This was the single most terrifying experience of my life…this is all I’ve been able to think about for the last six months.” Dustin could have received nine months in jail for the convictions, but managed to skate away with less than half that time. But still, life behind bars in Wisconsin can’t be easy, and we’ve ALL seen Making a Murderer and that state is one place we definitely wouldn’t want to run afoul of the law or be on the police’s radar.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Dustin will turn his life around after he serves his jail time?
