We know they couldn’t do it without him. That’s right, Tim Curry will officially be a part of the new ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show.’ Get the scoop on Tim’s return to the ‘Rocky Horror’ world!
The original Dr. Frank-N-Furter is back — and better than ever. FOX announced on Jan. 15 that legendary actor Tim Curry, 69, will officially be a part of The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake. So, who will he play?
Tim will take on the role of the Criminologist Narrator in FOX’s two-hour special, the network announced during the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 15. Of course, Tim originated the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1973 stage production of Rocky Horror, and then in the 1975 movie.
“I am very happy and excited to be a part of this new event,” Tim said in a statement. Orange Is The New Black’s Laverne Cox will take on the role that Tim made famous — Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The following have also been cast in the adaptation: Victoria Justice (Janet), Ryan McCartan (Brad), Adam Lambert (Eddie), Reeve Carney (Riff Raff), and Staz Nair (Rocky).
It’s been over 40 years since Tim played Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the iconic film. It’s going to be great to see him with this new Rocky Horror cast. The original cast, which included Tim, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn and Meat Loaf, reunited back in Oct. 2015 to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary. The reboot will air in the fall on FOX.
