Gyms are actually a great place to find a date, so you always want to look cute when you’re working out, right? Copy Lea Michele’s sexy braid below.
Lea Michele, 29, attended a SoulCycle and Target collaboration event in NYC on Jan. 14 and she looked so amazing on that bike. Her beautiful braid kept her hair out of her face and is super easy to copy!
Lea posted a pic of her braid on Instagram, writing: “Another EPIC braid by the amazing @sarahpotempa for tonight’s event! 💕Love you Sarah! 💓.”
Sarah Potempa created the volumized, high fishtail braid for this workout event. Genius! It’s so pretty and cool but totally functional.
Here’s the exact how to:
“Step 1: Use The Beachwaver Co. Ceramic Styling Iron to smooth hair at the root before pulling your hair up into a high, sleek ponytail.
Step 2: Grab a 1″ section from the ponytail and wrap around to cover the elastic. Secure the bottom with hair pins. Use a small amount of Aussie’s miraculously smooth tizz no frizz gel for a clean finish.
Step 3: Start on the 3D fishtail braid with the standard fishtail technique- Split the ponytail in half with your fingers. Take a small section from the right, separate it into two pieces and send one piece over the top and add it to the left. Then, send the other piece under and add it to the left section.
Step 4: Take a small section from the left, separate it into two and send one piece over the top and add it to the right. Send the other piece under and add it to the right section. Continue to repeat all the way down for a 3D fishtail box braid.
Step 5 (Optional): Pancake top of the braid by gently pulling the sides to give more volume.”
I don’t go anywhere without Sarah’s Beachwaver curling iron. It’s an automatic iron that curls hair both towards and away from your face. It creates three looks — tight curls, loose waves and beachy styles. It’s an all-in-one I can’t live without. You don’t necessary need this for Lea’s braided look but it will definitely help you add more volume and texture to any style.
Gym Hairstyles — Copy Lea Michele’s Braid
Meredith Baraf did her stunning makeup. Although we don’t recommend working out in a full face of makeup, Lea made it work!
If you’re running to the gym after work, grab a makeup removing wipe. I love the Yes To Travel Wipes. They are perfect to throw in your gym bag and come in a variety of formulas. I love the Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes, because they are super gentle and 96%. I even use them to remove eye makeup.
For an even deeper cleaning when you get home, try the new Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil from Caudalie. It’s luxurious and hydrating — perfect for the winter.
