Interesting! Chris Rock shared his first Oscars promo on Twitter and he had an unexpected caption to go with it. In his post advertising the 3 things to watch for at the 2016 Academy Awards, Chris called the show, ‘The White BET Awards!’
Is Chris Rock, 50, using his humor to bring light to a popular issue in Hollywood today? Or is he simply being his usual sarcastic self? The actor tweeted a preview for his gig as the 2016 Oscars host where he called the award ceremony ‘The White BET Awards’ dang! — take a look at the full video below!
It’s no lie that there’s been a trend in minority actors not receiving Oscar noms in the past and it appears as though this year is no different. Nominations for those who could go home with the gold statue were announced on Jan. 14, and one day later, movie buffs are already in a fury over most of those listed being white. So, it wasn’t too shocking that this year’s host described the 88th Annual Academy Awards as the white version of the BET awards.
Chris has been criticized before for taking his jokes a step too far and it appears as though he won’t be holding back when on stage for the Feb. 28 show either. According to Chris, there are 3 reasons why people should tune in to the biggest night in Hollywood.

His first reason, of course, is the opportunity for viewers to get an eye full of presenter’s cleavage. Next, he says audiences will get a look at who’s died so far this year, which is expected. And, third, he revealed, unsurprisingly, that he “might curse.” Alright, alright Chris, you’ve got our attention!
