OMG is everything going okay with Barry Manilow?! The legendary singer was rushed to the hospital after a heart attack scare, according to a new report. But HollywoodLife.com has learned the truth about what’s really going on with Barry’s health. Find out here!
Don’t believe everything you read when it comes to Barry Manilow, 72, this week. The singer was reportedly airlifted to the hospital back in October after fearing he had suffered a heart attack, but HollywoodLife.com knows what’s really going on.
“He feared he was having a heart attack,” Radar Online claims. “He and his husband were terrified, and Barry was airlifted to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles for the best treatment and doctors available.” The site reports that this all went down back in mid-October, but HollywoodLife.com has learned that the explanation of events is far from the truth.
“Mr. Manilow was not airlifted to Cedars with a heart attack!” Barry’s rep told HollywoodLife.com. “It is indeed an established fact that Mr. Manilow does have atrial fibrillation, but he has never had a heart attack nor is this a concern. On October 16th, Mr. Manilow had an outpatient procedure for his hip in Burbank. He was in and out the same day. His heart is in great shape. In fact, he just finished doing five shows in Rancho Mirage where he raised over $500,000 for 30 charities in the Coachella Valley and is hitting the road doing concerts for the next two months.”
The 72-year-old has been open about his irregular and rapid heartbeat, a condition he went public with in 2011 after first discovering it in 2004. “I was driving home and I felt my heart skip a beat,” he’s explained. “Your heart skipping a beat doesn’t sound like it’s anything serious, so I didn’t pay much attention to it. And then it went blump-bla-bla-blump. It got crazier and crazier. I felt like there was a fish flopping around in my chest.
We’re glad to know that nothing too serious is going on here, and that even though Barry was in the hospital, it wasn’t for a super risky procedure or anything. And, yes, it’s true — Barry is on the road until mid-February in the United States, and in June, he’ll be heading across the pond for a few weeks. All is well!
