He’s no Kanye West, but Brendan Dassey’s brother just released a rap song, titled ‘They Didn’t Do It,’ in an effort to prove Brendan and Steven Avery didn’t kill Teresa Halbach. He also manages to call out both the police as well as the judicial system. Listen to the song here.
Making A Murderer — a 10-part docu-series that was released on Netflix in December — has infuriated many. But none more so than Brendan Dassey‘s half-brother Brad. He’s so upset that his brother and uncle, Steven Avery, were charged with the murder of Teresa Halbach that he has released a rap song titled “They Didn’t Do It.” Why? Because he believes they’re innocent.
Brad believes his brother and uncle are innocent, so he created this rap song, which you can listen to above, to express those feelings. But he also manages to call out both the police and the judicial system in the lyrics, as you can probably tell when listening to the song.
Some of the lyrics go as follows: “Not a fair trial, not a fair game. Whole thing’s whack, just a lying shame.”
Sadly, Brendan’s conviction has also affected Brad’s life. He was fired from his DJ gig after his brother was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, TMZ claims. Brad reportedly spent 10 hours making this song, so he really hopes everyone enjoys it. He even wants to perform it for his brother when he visits him in jail. Heck, maybe it’ll even help him launch a new career after losing his DJ gig.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you a fan of Brad Dassey’s “They Didn’t Do It”? Could this be the defense Steven and Brendan have been waiting for? Take a listen and tell us how you feel!
