J.J. Abrams isn’t involved in the ‘Star Wars’ spinoff solely based on a young Han Solo, but he does know how the actor can get prepared.
We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again — no one will ever be Harrison Ford, no matter what. And J.J. Abrams is well aware of that fact. However, while at the Television Critics Association press tour promoting his new show Roadies, JJ couldn’t avoid the questions about the movie that broke records, and what’s next.

So, what does JJ think about the new young Han Solo? Well he didn’t reveal who his pick was. “I wish I had something to say, but I don’t,” he told our sister publication, Variety, after the panel on Jan. 12. “I haven’t turned my attention to that.”
And of course, in true J.J. form, he did offer what may be the best advice to whoever attempts to step into Harrison’s (large) shoes. “Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’ll all be right there.”
There is currently a short list of actors floating around, which includes Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Dave Franco, among others. We are hearing the decision will come quick. While the film isn’t set to begin filming until January 2017, there is a possibility that the new Han could appear in Rouge One: A Star Wars Story before his own spinoff (much like the new Spiderman will do in Captain America: Civil War).
