Burgess may be engaged to Ruzek on ‘Chicago P.D.’ — but we’ve all seen the bumps in the road. So, will the Jan. 13 mark the end for the couple?
Only one couple can be good on Chicago P.D. at a time, according to EP Matt Olmstead, and with Linstead finally getting hot and heavy, that isn’t good for Burzek. HollywoodLife.com spoke to Marina Squerciati at the Television Critics Association press tour on Jan. 13, and she previewed tonight’s huge episode being a major turning point in her engagement — and the other characters that are involved.
“Tonight is one of the biggest nights for my relationship,” Marina told reporters, including HollywoodLife.com at TCA. She added that when EP Matt Olmstead said when one couple is doing well, the other isn’t. she gasped. “I’ve never done a scene between Sophia Bush‘s character and my character, and what happens tonight brings us together and it’s very interesting.”
So does that mean her engagement with Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) will be over? Well, something will go down where Det. Lindsay will be giving her character advice that “changes her view, maybe on men.”
Of course, HollywoodLife had to ask about her partnership with Roman (Brian Geraghty), who has been getting into trouble on the show. “I thought we were friends — I’ve always seen us very much ‘brother and sister.’ Apparently [others] don’t! The show told me, there will be a changing nature of the relationship between Burgess and Roman. I was like, ‘Wait What?!’ What does that even mean? I’m nervous and scared!”
Maybe this means that she’ll now be able to head to intelligence if she and Ruzek split? Well, not if it’s up to Marina! “A lot of my fans tweet at me that they want me in intelligence but I like being in blue,” she told us. “I hope I stay there!”
Do you want Burgess and Roman to get together? Chicago P.D. airs on NBC at 10PM ET on Jan. 13!
