So sad. Just two days after Disney star Michael Galeota, 31, was found dead on Jan. 10, a new report claims he had serious alcohol issues leading up to his death. He accumulated 3 DUIs between 2006 and 2015, and the most recent one was an ongoing case. Find out more here.
Michael Galeota reportedly struggled with alcohol issues before he was found dead on Sunday, Jan. 10, new findings show. Apparently, the Disney star had 3 DUIs in the last 10 years, and served jail time stemming from alcohol-related incidents. So is this what caused his death? Here’s what we know.
At this time, it’s unclear if Michael’s struggle with alcohol, as reported by TMZ, had anything to do with his death. He was, however, hospitalized last week for abdominal pain. It’s possible his liver failed, but until we know more, we can’t say for certain.
Michael actually racked up three DUIs between 2006 and 2015, while his most recent one was an ongoing case at the time of his death. He also served jail time for violating his probation a few times in alcohol-related incidents, TMZ further explains.
And on top of that, it’s been discovered that Michael, who starred in The Jersey on the Disney Channel, “had a history of hypertension and high cholesterol. He also battled diverticulitis, inflammation of the digestive track,” according to TMZ.
Despite Michael’s abdominal pain, he left the hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 6, an action which went against doctor’s orders. Friends then became worried when they hadn’t heard from Michael on Jan. 10. So a friend went over to his house and found his lifeless body on the living room floor.
This is so sad. Our thoughts remain with Michael’s family and friends during this difficult time.
