One week after Craig Strickland’s body was found following a week-long search for the country star, a memorial service is being held for him at his church in Rogers, Arkansas. Fans can be part of Craig’s Jan. 12 remembrance with a live stream — watch it here.
Country and music fans alike were heartbroken over the shocking loss of Craig Strickland, who was pronounced dead on Jan. 4. The 29-year-old member of country group Backroad Anthem passed away following a hunting boat accident, leaving behind a beautiful wife, Helen Wisner, and a career that ended far too soon. His memorial service takes place Jan. 12, and Helen wanted to make sure that fans across the country could pay tribute by offering a webcast of the service, which starts at 6 p.m. CST.
To inform fans about the memorial service and live stream, Helen shared an Instagram with a heartfelt message along with a shot of Craig’s boots and a picture from their wedding. “Dear friends, please pray that I may have strength tomorrow as I walk through the most difficult experience I’ve ever gone through in my life. I am so thankful for every moment I had with Craig and I am thankful the Lord is taking care of him now. More than ever our family will need your prayers. I’m so thankful for every person that has poured out their love to us,” she wrote. Watch the memorial service HERE.
Craig tragically lost his life while on a duck hunting trip with his dog, Sam, and friend, Chase Morland. The three were declared missing after their boat capsized on Dec. 27, with Chase’s body being found on Dec. 28. Authorities continued to search for Craig for another week, finding Sam alive, but sadly Craig was found dead on Jan. 4. Helen revealed that it was hypothermia that took Craig’s life, but he “experienced no pain in his final moments.”
As a member of Backroad Anthem, Craig will certainly be missed by more than just his family and close friends. Helen and Craig’s loved ones remain in our thoughts during this difficult time.
HollywoodLifers, whether you will be tuning in to the memorial service, send your love to Helen and Craig’s family as they remember him.
