So sad! Michael Galeota, best known for his starring in the Disney Channel’s hit The Jersey has passed away from a series medical conditions. While he was best known for his 1999 — 2004 role as Nick Lighter on the tweener show, he ended up leaving the acting world for a role in real estate as an adult. 1. Michael retired from acting as a teenager.
Aside from his five-year role on The Jersey, his last acting role was on the Kids’ WB show The Nightmare Room in 2001.
2. His last job was working in commercial and residential real estate.
He was pictured on his Twitter at a trade show representing Marshall & Swift, a company that “provides commercial and residential real estate industries with the most current and accurate building cost data available.”
3. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with his burial costs.
It reads, “His humble nature hid a great compassionate and loving human being, with a huge heart. He cared profoundly for his family and friends. Mike was a great giver, always ready and able to care for others. Although his life was short, we are grateful and appreciate the experience of having been loved, and loved him in return, and for being in our lives. In our hearts and souls, he will always be with us. Please help us to provide a burial that is worthy of a GIVER.”
4. Michael likely died from complications of various medical conditions.
A friend found his dead body in the living room of his Glendale, CA home, and the actor had reportedly not been following medical advice to deal with his hypertension, high cholesterol and diverticulitis (inflammation of the digestive tract). An autopsy is being performed to determine his exact cause of death, which has been preliminarily classified to be from natural causes.
5. Michael was a huge sports fan.
According to his Twtitter account, he was a huge fan of the NFL, NBA, NHL and boxing, with most of his account activity centered around commenting on or retweeting about sports.
