Olivia Wilde took a bold beauty risk at the 2016 Golden Globes that really had her standing out in the sea of red carpet looks. Sporting a burgundy smokey eye that matched her dress, we need to know how you feel about this unconventional beauty look.
Olivia Wilde, 31, took a break from mommy duty to completely slay the red carpet. Wearing a red sequin Michael Kors gown, Olivia wore her hair in cascading waves that were loosely pulled into a ponytail at the back. The finishing touch was a shimmery burgundy smokey eye that’s definitely a little riskier than your usual bronze eyeshadow looks.
Olivia’s makeup started out simple enough. Makeup artist Jo Baker gave the Revlon global brand ambassador a clean base with the new ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup and Concealer. For a soft highlight, she used the Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow, which also served as Olivia’s blush.
If you’re as into Olivia’s burgundy eye makeup as we are, here’s how you can recreate it for yourself. Start by using the ColorStay 16HR Eyeshadow Quad in Decadent, blending the top two shades across the lid for a gold undertone and the bottom right shade across the lid, building the color along the top and bottom lash line. To really make Olivia’s eyes pop, Jo lined the inner rim of her upper and lower lash line with the PhotoReady Kajal Liner in Matte Coal before applying two coats of the Ultimate All-In-One Mascara in Blackest Black to her lashes.

Finishing with a neutral lip, Jo lined Olivia’s lip with ColorStay Lip Liner in Natural, filling them in with Ultra HD Lipstick in HD Camilla. For a glossy shine, she applied Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Super Natural.
Olivia presented at the Golden Globes, attending with husband Jason Sudeikis. The couple, who have a one-year-old son looked stunning on the red carpet and they showed off their sense of humor, too. Ahead of the show, Olivia shared a picture to her Instagram with the caption: “Most parties that start at 3pm involve bouncy castles. Don’t let us down, Hollywood. #globes.”
