Natalie Cole was laid to rest Jan. 11, but not before a flurry of pop and R&B superstars paid their last respects to the late singer. Her funeral was nothing but A-list and the performers who sang the Nat’s praises included the legendary Stevie Wonder.

Lionel, Chaka Khan, Smokey Robinson and songwriter David Foster were among the speakers at Natalie’s funeral, which lasted for several hours. The great Stevie Wonder and Kurt Carr performed at her closed-casket service, which was attended by the likes of Gladys Knight, Johnny, the Reverend Jesse Jackson and songwriter Linda Thompson. Natalie’s son Robbie and sisters Timolin and Casey also spoke at the funeral, which was presided over by the Rev. Melvin V. Wade, the late singer’s rep told People magazine.
“I feel so blessed to have called you my friend, and my buddy, and many times my confidante,” Smokey told the packed church, CBS LA reported. “You are so real and down to Earth. Now I have to say you’re so real and up to heaven.”
Natalie was later laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale alongside her parents Nat King Cole and Maria Hawkins.
