BFF rivalry? Not here! Even though Jennifer Lawrence beat out Amy Schumer for a Golden Globe, there’s no ‘Bad Blood’ between the pair.
Jennifer Lawrence, 25, isn’t too worried about her friend, Amy Schumer, 34, losing at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. In the press room, Jennifer explained why she’s not concerned about their friendship after claiming the Globe for “Best Performance by an Actress” in a Musical or Comedy.
Can awards ruin a perfectly good friendship? Not if it’s Amy and Jennifer’s! In fact, Jennifer admitted that she was surprised she took the award and Amy didn’t.
“It wasn’t a matter of feeling bad, because she’s funny and hilarious. I really expected Amy to win,” Jennifer told the room full of press shortly after accepting her award. “This was very truly surprising for me. I was really surprised,” the Joy actress continued.
Plus, when asked who she was most looking forward to celebrating her win with, Jennifer shared that it was definitely Trainwreck star Amy! Oh, and of course her director, David O. Russell, too.
“I am most looking forward to celebrating with Amy and David,” Jennifer shared excitedly, ready to hit the town with her squad. “David’s been my champion for years, and I have been his. Now I get all of his attention because I am the only cast member tonight. So it is my real dream come true. So I am going to celebrate with David.”
So sweet! We just love Amy and Jennifer’s friendship, and we hope to see them back at the Globes again next year — maybe even as hosts!
