James Franco, 37, must do whatever he can to stop one of the most devastating days in American history from happening in 11.22.63, based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel. James’ mission isn’t easy, especially since the past will stop at nothing to not be changed at all.
With the help of Al Templeton (Chris Cooper), James’ character, Jake Epping, goes back to 1963 to try and put a stop to the assassination of John F. Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. He’s thrown from the 21st century into the 1960s lifestyle. It’s startling, to say the least.
But the past wants to stay in the past. Jake witnesses a crazy car crash, and the victim tells him, “You shouldn’t be here.” Al isn’t even sure Lee Harvey Oswald was the one who killed JFK, but he believes Jake will find out the truth eventually. However, he notes that “the past doesn’t want to be changed when you’re close to changing something.”
Well, Jake must get close, because he ends up facing dozens of gross cockroaches while surrounded by barrels of tri-sodium phosphate. Oh, and he nearly hits a man with his car and gets beaten up in the street. However, he does find love during his adventure, but it may not end well.
In addition to James and Chris, the show is anchored by a solid ensemble cast, including Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Sarah Gadon and Lucy Fry. 11.22.63 will premiere on Presidents’ Day — Feb. 15, 2016.
