How do you make a Selena Gomez song even better? Add Fetty Wap! The two teamed up to remix her hit ‘Same Old Love,’ and it couldn’t be more amazing! Listen to it here!
Selena Gomez, 23, is on a roll these days. Just after releasing her sexiest music video to date, the singer surprised fans with an epic remix of “Same Old Love” that featured the one and only Fetty Wap. While it might seem like an interesting collaboration, the song’s beat combined with Fetty’s raps make for quite the awesome matchup. How did we not think of this pairing?!
After the song opens with the same catchy snap-along rhythm of the “Same Old Love” original, suddenly Fetty, 24, busts onto the track throwing down an intro that sets the scene for the anthemic lyrics Selena later sings. “I am so sick, I’m hoping you’ll notice, yeah baby,” he raps. “So sick of the same old love/ Like a dose of the same old drug, yeah baby/ Really starting to get under my skin.”
Although it’s technically Selena’s song, Fetty, still manages to sneak in his signature “Yaaa, baby” throughout the new-and-improved track. It wouldn’t be a Fetty remix without it, right? But that doesn’t take away from Selena’s classic breakup tune — in fact, we think it’s the perfect addition to Sel’s hit!
Once Selena sings most of the “Same Old Love” fans know and love, Fetty comes back toward the end of the tune, adding some more original raps that are a genius wrap-up of Sel’s kiss-off lyrics: “Said it drives me crazy/So sick of the same old love/Baby and I don’t mean to make you cry/Baby thought I could be by your side/Baby thought you were my ride or die.”
We may not have known about the remix until the two superstars dropped it without notice, but clearly they put some thought into their remix. It’s nothing short of incredible!
