Donald Trump has finally reacted to Megyn Kelly’s accusation of him trying to win over her political heart before the first GOP debate. And spoiler alert, he was NOT having any of it! Grab your popcorn — this feud just got heated.
Donald Trump, 69, and Megyn Kelly, 45, were at it AGAIN — but we’re not surprised. The latest has to do with a certain claim Megyn made about Donald attempting to “woo” her for her vote. Uh oh! Donald finally came forward and, unsurprisingly, had a whole lot to say about Megyn and her accusations.
Donald held nothing back as he bashed Megan’s “woo”-ing claims, in fact, he dished out some pretty low-blows. Donald told The Hill, on Jan. 5, “The last person in the world I would try to woo is Megyn Kelly.” Ouch! He added, “I’m not sure she can be fair and balanced because she has a thing with Donald Trump.” Apparently Donald also refers to himself in the third person now. Awkward!
When asked if he thinks he’ll get along with Megyn during the Fox News debate later this month, Trump responded, “No. I don’t think we will.” Come on Donald, where’s that sportsmanship?
But feuds like this one don’t just erupt over night, so here’s a refresh: Earlier this month Megyn revealed, during an interview in the Feb. 2016 issue of Vanity Fair, that Donald “would send” her “press clippings” about herself that he would just sign, “Donald Trump.”
“I didn’t know why he was doing that and then when he announced that he was running for president, it became more clear,” Megyn told E! News.
It seems pretty clear that Donald was trying to get a head start on winning over Megyn as a supporter. But obviously his approach didn’t work, as shots were fired at the first GOP debate between the anchor and presidential candidate. “I can’t be wooed,” Megyn firmly told Vanity Fair. “I was never going to love him and I was never going to hate him.”
Like the prior Fox News debate, Kelly, Chris Wallace and Bret Baier will moderate the Jan. 28 debate in Iowa, and despite Donald and Megyn’s differences, he said he “Probably will” attend. We hope he does, if nothing else he will make the debate interesting! Just please Donald, let’s keep it clean and only stick to politics, shall we?
What do you think about Donald’s approach of trying to win votes, HollywoodLifers? Does Donald seem guilty of “wooing”? Or was he just doing his job as a presidential candidate?
