Will the Kardashians tune in for the premiere of ‘American Crime Story?’ Khloe Kardashian revealed some surprising thoughts about the highly-anticipated new series during a press event on Jan. 6, including what she really thought about her family’s portrayal on the show. See her full comments below!
Though they play a significant role in FX’s new O.J. Simpson-inspired miniseries, The People Vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, the Kardashians have revealed relatively little about their feelings about the show — that is, until now. During a Television Critics Association press tour on Jan. 6, Khloe Kardashian, 32, opened up for the first time about her thoughts on the highly-anticipated series, revealing what she really thinks about the show’s portrayal of her famous family. See what she had to say about the show here!
So as it turns out, Khloe is just like us — she can’t wait for the series to air! “Oh, I definitely want to see it,” Khloe told reporters on Jan. 6 while promoting her upcoming talk show Kocktails with Khloe for FYI. “My mom [Kris Jenner] and Selma Blair became really good friends. She was at our Christmas Eve party. My mom had way more of an investment in that movie. She helped a little bit with character.”
As for any concern over the way her family is represented, Khloe didn’t seem too worried about it “It’s neither here nor there,” she added. “However they want to portray us is fine. I still want to see it.”
We’ll admit, we definitely didn’t see that coming. While a only a few clips from the show have been released thus far, it goes without saying that it’s going to have its fair share of controversial moments for the Kardashians, who are said to be prominently featured throughout the series. In fact, in one of the earlier teasers from the 10-episode show David Schwimmer, who plays Robert Kardashian, can be seen going into his daughter, Kim Kardashian‘s, childhood bedroom only to find Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, crouched over in the corner and holding a gun. “Do not kill yourself in Kimmy’s room,” he exclaims. Now, that’s some dark subject matter!
“I had no idea who [Robert] was,” David revealed during The Bill Carter Interview on Dec. 16, as reported by the Daily Mail. “It was a mystery to me. And I was really intrigued, especially given what the Kardashian name means to people today.” The Friends star also went on to say that people will learn “Robert was a very different person… And also a man of great faith, which I didn’t know at all.”
Needless to say, it’s going to be an interesting watch for us all. The People Vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story premieres Tuesday, Feb. 2, on FX. Will you be watching, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
