Poor Steve Harvey! Jane Lynch totally burned him over his infamous Miss Universe flub during the People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 6. Jane pulled off this epic diss with a little help from ‘The Odd Couple’s Thomas Lennon and…Miss Colombia!? Click to watch.
It’s the first awards show of 2016 and Jane Lynch, 55, wasted no time in taking a shot at her fellow awards show host, Steve Harvey, 58, at the 42nd People’s Choice Awards. Steve may still be stinging over his humiliation of naming the wrong Miss Universe as the winner, but Jane showed no mercy with her hilarious diss!
“We’re trying something new this year,” Jane said during the Jan. 6 event. “This year, People’s Choice Awards have picked one entertainer for, whatever reason, has never won a People’s Choice award, but we believe is deserving of one.” How sweet! Jane then announced Thomas Lennon, 45, the star off Reno 911! and The Odd Couple, as the winner. An ecstatic Tom came up to accept, but right before he could thank everyone, Jane interrupted him.
“I have to apologize here,” she said. “It was ‘First Runner Up, Tom Lennon.” Burn! Jane nailed the joke home by announcing the “real” winner as Miss Colombia! Sadly, the stunning beauty that came out to take the award away from Tom wasn’t Ariadna Gutierrez, but a beautiful impostor! That was cold, Jane — but funny!

It looks like 2016 is starting off to be a bigger year for award show insults than the last – and that’s saying something! 2015 had plenty of prime shade being thrown. The biggest came when Nicki Minaj decided to trash Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards, calling Miley a “b*tch” before asking, “What’s good?” And everybody thought Nicki was going to go after Taylor Swift.
Erykah Badu dumped all over Iggy Azalea during the Soul Train awards, trashing Iggy by saying what she does “isn’t rap.” Iggy made sure to fire back at Erykah, warning her not to “discredit” the “Fancy” singer. This fighting was almost as nasty as when Jamie Foxx trashed Caitlyn Jenner at the iHeartRadio awards. His comments didn’t get quite the laugh he was hoping for. Yikes.
Joel McHale took shots at everybody while he hosted the 2015 ESPYs, but he made sure to take a moment to roast Justin Bieber. “It has been 22 years since a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup. It’s also been 22 years since Canada’s own, Justin Bieber, was conceived. It’s not a coincidence, Canada. It’s not. ” Joel said, implying something rather sinister. “You know what you have to do.” Uh-oh.
It seems Jane wants to kick off the new year with some fresh host-on-host drama. Will Steve respond to this diss or just laugh it off? There’s plenty of time for him and Jane to turn 2016 into the Year of the Feud.
What did you think of Jane mocking Steve’s Miss Universe blunder, HollywoodLifers? Hilarious or lame?
