Plus, ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ gets some recognition at the hotel!
In the penultimate episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, we picked off where we left off weeks ago with shots being fired at The Countess (Lady Gaga) and Donovan (Matt Bomer). However, the result wasn’t what Iris (Kathy Bates) and Liz (Denis O’Hare) had hoped for.
Naturally, Donovan jumped in front of The Countess and he was shot; he begged his heartbroken mother to let him die outside the hotel so he wouldn’t have to live with all of The Countess’ other lovers. So, they carried him outside to the street, where he died, after saying “Thank you, Mom” to Iris. A sweet moment — interrupted by quite an abrupt one — and dare I say, the most intense I’ve ever seen in any Horror Story.
Sally (Sarah Paulson) saved the Countess and revealed her horrific past that made her Hypodermic Sally — she was so obsessed with a couple in ’93 and felt love for the first time. So, they all got really high together and she did what she thought was the best way to keep them close: she sewed all their skin together. Then the couple died of overdose, she was attacked by the addiction demon, and ripped herself apart from them. Let me just say, it was not a scene for the weak stomachs.
To survive, the Countess only had one option: feed on the children and kill them. So she did. Duh.
Let’s get to the best part: QUEENIE IS BACK. That’s right, Gabourey Sibide returned to AHS as her character from Coven. But unfortanely, it didn’t last long. She checked in and was attacked by Ramona. She used her voodoo skills on her to beat her up but was ultimately killed by Mr. March (this guy never disappears).
He of course, wanted to save Ramona so she could kill the Countess and lock her inside the hotel. And Ramona got a little stronger after drinking a witches blood. However, she went to see The Countess and instead of just shooting her, she fell under the Countess’ spell the moment they saw each other (REALLY, GIRL?!). However, the minute the Countess packs her things to leave, she’s met at the door by Det. Lowe, who shoots her a ton of times, completing his mission as the ten commandment killer — killing a murderer. And with that, the Countess’ head goes in the jar, and her presence is forever stuck with Mr. March.
Stay tuned next week for the finale of American Horror Story: Hotel.
