Whoa, Lydia Hearst has just posed for the most glamorous breastfeeding photo EVER. The model and heiress is one of the stars of Equinox gym’s new ‘commitment’ ad campaign and although she doesn’t have kids, she’s breastfeeding TWINS in the provocative new shoot.
Equinox gyms has found a controversial way to get our attention with a new ad campaign featuring heiress Lydia Hearst, 31. The actress and model is showing her bare breasts with two infants suckling on her nipples, but the kicker here is she’s not actually breastfeeding because she doesn’t have kids! Is this an amazing portrait of female power at its best or is this just plain risque? One thing is for sure, it’s definitely making a statement about how it’s okay to breast feed in public.
The granddaughter of publishing tycoon William Randoph Hearst is making quite a powerful statement about “commit to something” which is the new ad campaign slogan for Equinox gyms. However, while she appears to be breastfeeding two babies at the same time – a commendable act – she’s never had kids making the ad all the more provocative. Shot by famed photographer Steven Klein, Lydia is glammed up to the max with slicked back hair and gorgeous diamond earrings. She appears to be wearing a plunging black evening gown with her breasts fully out so the babies can be fed, except for the fact she’s not a mom and thus not lactating.
“It is the responsibility of advertising to communicate modern times and social issues. This campaign addresses today’s issues and social commentaries, which is a powerful approach instead of portraying people as superficial objects with no narrative,” Steven said about his ad campaign, which apparently includes breastfeeding in public as Lydia is shown dining at a fine restaurant.
Other photos in the series make perfect sense, with MMA fighter Alan Jouban showing off his ripped chest and a shelf full of his fighting trophies, but the orgy shot and the guy wearing black undies covered in cash aren’t exactly motivating us to want to lift weights. Along with Lydia’s photo, the campaign will definitely get people talking, that’s for sure.
