Did Johnny Manziel commit a personal foul before the last NFL game of the season? Before the Pittsburgh Steelers creamed Johnny’s team, the Cleveland Browns, on Dec. 3, he was reportedly partying and gambling in Las Vegas!
Where’s a ref to throw a penalty flag when you need one? The 2015 NFL season ended for Johnny Manziel, 23, and the Cleveland Browns with yet another loss. But before the Browns finished their year with a dismal 3-13 record, did “Johnny Football” start the off-season early by getting his party on in Vegas?
Johnny was reportedly seen dining and gambling at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Sin City on Dec. 2, according to a USA Today report. After eating, Johnny reportedly made his way to the casino. John Hornaacek, who was reportedly at the casino, told USA Today that an employee checking Johnny’s ID said “We’ve got Johnny Manziel with us tonight.”
When Johnny’s reported Vegas adventure caused a buzz online, he posted an Instagram photo of him laying on the floor of his home with his dog, tagging it #SaturdayNights. He would later add Avon, Ohio as the photo’s location. However, when asked about Johnny’s location on Dec. 3, the Browns owner, Jimmy Haslam, said “I’m not exactly sure where Johnny is,” according to The New York Times. “Haven’t talked to him. I know our football people will be on top of that.”
The Browns quarterback also failed to report to the medical staff on Sunday. Johnny suffered a concussion when playing the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 27, and he was going to sit out the final game of the season out of health concerns. He wasn’t required to be at the final game, but if Johnny was really partying the night before, it’s going to raise some red flags.
In Feb. 2015, Johnny checked himself into rehab for ten weeks following his rocky rookie year in the NFL. While he and the Browns struggled to get any momentum going this season, Johnny found some drama off the field. He was arrested in October after a car ride with his girlfriend, Colleen Elizabeth Crowley, turned into a heated argument. A month later, in November, Johnny was recorded partying at the RIO Rooftop Nightclub in Austin, TX.
Johnny may have a lot more free time on his hands to party if he’s not careful. The Cleveland Browns fired coach Mike Pettine and general manager, Ray Farmer, according to ESPN. Will “Johnny Football” become “Johnny Unemployed” after allegedly dining and gambling in Vegas instead of supporting his team?
Do you think the Browns should keep Johnny on the team, HollywoodLifers? Or do you think that Johnny’s time is up?
