It’s happening: Bill Cosby was briefly taken into police custody after being charged with the sexual assault of a former Temple University student in 2004.
Bill Cosby, 78, is officially in big trouble due to one of the many, many sexual assault allegations that have been made against him. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday, Dec. 30, after he was charged for an alleged sexual violation that took place in his very own home. The legendary comedian turned himself in for booking at approximately 2:50pm ET that same day.
Just moments after his arraignment, Bill Cosby arrived at the Cheltenham Township Police Department where he was booked — fingerprints and mugshot — as an inmate. He then paid 10% of his $1 million bail in cash, which comes to $100,000, reports Fox News. A warrant was issued for him early on Wednesday morning, Dec. 30, after he was finally and officially charged for sexually violating Andrea Constand in his private home in 2004.
Bill was also forced to hand over his passport.
“Upon examination of all of the evidence, today we are able to seek justice on behalf of Mr. Cosby’s victim,” incoming District Attorney Kevin Steele said in a live press conference after the arraignment. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman is the one who formally charged Bill with not one, but three counts of aggravated indecent assault, reports NBC Philadelphia. The felony charges include that Bill allegedly assaulted his victim while she was unconscious.
The report claims that during a deposition for the case, Bill confessed to fondling Andrea and taking her “silence” as a green light to continue.
