Sadly, missing Craig Strickland’s longtime friend, Chase Morland, was discovered lifeless after their boat capsized on a hunting trip. Here’s everything you need to know about him.
Chase Morland, 22, lost his life on what was supposed to be a fun weekend with his best friend, Craig Strickland, 29, in Oklahoma. Get to know the fallen hunter with these handful of facts about his very short life.
1.) He Sent One Final, Eerie Tweet Before His Death
The last thing Chase tweeted, which was later RT’d by Craig, was that the pair might not come back from their hunting trip due to the storm they were facing. The tweet — which can be seen HERE — was obviously a joke, with Chase adding in a laughing emoji. Unfortunately, it is now the final update on his account.
2.) He Was Looking Forward To 2016
This one is truly sad to see, especially since Chase did not make it to the New Year.
2015 had its ups and downs, but every year does. Ready to see what 2016 has in store

3.) He Had A Crush On Carrie Underwood
Maybe it was more than a crush, because he called her “flawless” on social media. Aw!
4.) Chase Preferred Hunting With A Bow
Honestly, this is pretty obvious just from scrolling through his Twitter account. Most of the pictures Chase posted were of his own bows while he was out on the hunt, and he also seemed to share lots of other photo and infos about why what he called “bow hunting” was better.
5.) He Has A Tattoo For His Grandfather
In a tweet dated Aug. 13, Chase showed off a freshly inked tattoo on his lower abdomen. The tweet revealed that the tattoo was a touching tribute to his grandfather who always told him, “give ’em your best.” You can see the tattoo HERE.
Our thoughts remain with Chase and Craig’s family during this very difficult time.
