So haunting! Did Craig Strickland reveal that he thought his hunting trip during a winter storm would be so terrible he may not make it home alive? The singer’s last tweet will send chills down your spine now that he’s been declared missing.
How sad! Things are looking grim for the fate of Backroad Anthem singer Craig Strickland, 29, who is still missing following a hunting trip that killed his close pal Chase Morland, 22. The two men headed out into a horrible winter storm Dec. 26 and even joked online about where they were going and the chance that they might not come back. You’ll never believe what his final tweet revealed.
Craig’s eerie lastl Twitter post was a retweet from Chase on Dec. 26 that read “In case we don’t come back,
@BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm.” It even included a happy face emoji with a sweat drop on it’s face, so it looks like they knew things could turn ugly with the bad weather. But we’re sure both men had every intention of making it home to their loved ones.

But the pair never returned and their families hadn’t heard from them once they headed out on Kaw Lake, OK to go duck hunting. Much of that area of the state was under heavy rain and flood warnings over the weekend so it probably a really bad time to go out on a body of water. On early Dec. 28 the men’s boat was spotted capsized at an area authorities were unable to reach. Unfortuately, they found Chase’s dead body shortly before noon local time. Craig’s beloved black lab Sam was found near the scene safe and sound — albeit cold and wet — but still there’s no sign of the singer and the search will resume in the morning.
Even his bandmates from Backroad Anthem and Craig’s family members are fearing the worst, posting on their Facebook account, “We are trying to think of a scenario where he is still alive. Hoping against the odds. We can’t even stand to think about it. We are devastated. Only God & time can put us back together. Love all! From Craig’s father Randy Strickland. We love you Randy, Helen, Joanne, and family and we are all believing in a miracle!
Our thoughts are with Craig’s friends and family during this distressing time and are hoping for their miracle to come true.
