Benedict Cumberbatch is taking Marvel by storm — and Nov. 2016 can not come soon enough. The first pics of the actor as ‘Dr. Strange’ have just been released and he’s seriously never looked better.
Paging all Benedict Cumberbatch lovers — or any men or women who just love good actors who are amazingly good looking. Entertainment Weekly just released their “First Look” issue, and on the cover is the 39-year-old English actor, looking very scruffy as Doctor Strange.
Everyone’s soon-to-be new Marvel obsession Doctor Strange also stars Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mads Mikkelsen, but it’s Benedict who put on his costume for one the first times for EW‘s issue. Of course his character Doctor Stephen Strange wears this look after becoming a sorcerer — something that Benedict reveals he’s had to do a lot of research to master.
“I’m still in the infancy of learning all that,” he told the mag. “It was like, okay, I’ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I’m thinking, there’s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of thatfinger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I’m still working on that. We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.”
The mag also reveals which characters Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen will play, as well as details about the visual effects, which Benedict refers to as the “crazy s— going on.”
One of the best parts about the new cover was Kevin Smith‘s reaction on Twitter: “The Eye of Agamotto. The Cloak of Levitation. What you can’t see is The Ji– of my Jorts. Take ALL my money @Marvel!”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Does he look like the perfect Doctor Strange or just perfect?
